Reading Cafe

As part of book week we held a reading cafe at the Winchester School Library.  Parents were invited to come and read books with the children. We made some kai for our guests and the children served the adults first. It was a lovely cosy time.

We had a parade with the whole junior team for book day.

Maths - Measurement

This week we worked on weights. 

We used the words heavy, light and balanced when we were weighing objects. 

This game was called 'Tricky Bags'. One person secretly put an item in each of the bags and the other person had to discover which was the heaviest / lightest or if they weighed the same. It was very interesting. We discovered that size doesn't matter, the biggest isn't always the heaviest!

We have been learning about time. 

We learnt how to make "o'clock".

We made our own clocks to practice with. 

Discovery Time - So much fun!!

Hana came and played her violin for us. Our sound of the week was Vv. She was very good and we loved the sound it made.
